01.

Planting the Seed (2014)

2014: Every big story starts with a seed. In 2014, we started an informal operation to train and empower smallholder farmers with finance and farm inputs.

2016: Incorporated as Johnvents Consulting Limited, evolving into a trading company that aggregated farmer outputs and sold to offtakers.

02.

Taking Root (2016–2020)

The vision deepened as we built trust, grew networks, and strengthened our role as a reliable partner along the agricultural value chain.

• Transitioned from consulting to large-scale trading.
  
• Expanded farmer networks and aggregation hubs across Nigeria.
• Set the foundation for vertical integration into processing and value addition.

03.

First Shoots (2021)

The first bold signs of growth emerged. Johnvents stepped into processing, sustainability, and warehousing at scale.

2021: Acquired the18,000 MT Coop Cocoa Factory (renamed Johnvents Industries Limited). Commissioned the Johnvents Cocoa Factory in Ondo State (18,000 MT capacity).

In June 2021, Johnvents hit 5,000 MT of processed cocoa within six months of operations.

Launched the150,000 Cocoa Farmers Empowerment Programme.

Expanded warehousing to 15,000 MT.

04.

Growing Strong (2022)

Our shoots matured into stronger branches, scaling sustainability, earning certifications, and expanding consumer offerings.

Distributed 50,000+ cocoa seedlings, advancing the sustainability goal to support 150,000 farmers by 2030.

Earned Rainforest Alliance Certification, rewarding sustainable cocoa practices.

Launched Nigeria’s first locally packaged pure cocoa powder for domestic markets.

Expanded exports from the Akure factory into Europe and North America.

Founded Haven Hauling, our logistics arm for secure and timely delivery.

05.

Bearing Fruits (2023)

We grew wider, acquiring legacy assets and entering consumer markets.

Acquired Premium Cocoa Products Ile-Oluji (PCPIL), Nigeria’s oldest cocoa processor, expanding capacity to 48,000 MT.

Expanded trading to cover over 25 commodities across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

Launched Johnvents Foods Limited, producing consumer favourites like Oluji Pure Cocoa Powder, JV Chocolate Drink, JV Choco Pops, and JV Choco Cube.

Achieved a BBB+ credit rating by GCR.

05.

Branching out (2024)

2024 marked a defining moment in our journey, the year Johnvents expanded beyond cocoa into a diversified agribusiness with a global footprint. What began with cocoa took root across new commodities, new markets, and new consumer brands, solidifying our position as a multi-sector player.

Global Reach: Established Johnvents DMCC in Dubai, creating a hub for international commodities trading.

Diversified Portfolio: Founded Noble-Eagle Industries Limited, producing essentials like cooking oil, animal feed, bottled water, palm kernel oil, cereals, and seasoning cubes.

Market Leadership: Became Nigeria’s largest sesame exporter, generating up to $200 million in annual commodity sales.
